VARIABLE RUSHJOB was initiated after the relocation from London to New York. By fortune, Damon Hayhirst's (the former Botez collaborator) old schoolfriend Mick Monk from Rothendale in the north of England had also just moved the city. And with nothing more in common, the immigrants met up for weekly sessions for about a year. Later, under direction of Jade Monk (Mick's wife from Tallahassee) the project produced 3 singles and a full feature length album. Instant success.

	v. RUSHJOB: Burning Eagle pt1. Burning Eagle pt 2. These two tracks sum up the inprovisational drive of the group. The whooping 20 minutes - hence the two parts - is close to untouched by post production. The monotony and pace draws references to early kraut and cheesy elevation synth (yes, JMJ). But it's a live recording. And it is the unpredictable behaviour and randomly appearing shifts that pulls the work up on to the top shelf. So far without focus in the true spirit of other Leftbag operations; time spent playing goes straight to disk. The outfit is based in New York on either side of the East River. Equipped to their teeth with tube amps and midi knobs, the misfits got enough watts to run a small block party.
